I studied to become a teacher at Cardiff College of Education with Mathematics and Science being my two main subjects.  On leaving college I taught these two subjects for a period of seven years at Chancellor’s Comprehensive school in Brookman’s Park, Hertfordshire.  I then moved to Oxford as Head of Mathematics initially at St John Bosco Middle School and then at Cardinal Newman Middle School.  During this time I also managed the finances.  I served as Chairman of Governors at my children’s first school.

I finally was appointed as Bursar of St Gregory the Great Comprehensive School.  Following retirement from teaching I worked in the finance department at The Department of Materials in Oxford and studied Accountancy at The Cherwell College and afterwards was appointed as Finance Officer at Day & Nightcare Assistance.
